Criminal Trial – Felony
A felony criminal trial is different than a misdemeanor criminal trial in that there are normally 12 jurors seated in a felony criminal trial versus 6 in a criminal misdemeanor trial. Also the fact that felony punishment is in the range of anything over two years and up to 99 years. In a capital murder trial felony range of punishment could be the death penalty.
Also normally felony trials last longer just because of the implications, the evidence, the witnesses involved, and the prosecutions determination to obtain a guilty verdict in a felony.
